RE: ASUCD-Davis Community Blood Drive

Please consider donating blood during the upcoming blood drive on
Tuesday and Wednesday, November 4 and 5, 2008, from 10:00 a.m. to
5:00 p.m. in Freeborn Hall. As a special thank you, everyone who
donates will receive a free t-shirt, a ticket to see Wild Ocean
3D at Esquire IMAX and will be entered to win one of 10 IPODS.

BloodSource is a group of medical professionals who, with the gift
of blood from donors, serve every hospital in the area and help
advance the science of blood related medicine. BloodSource must
collect an average of 700 units of blood a day. Half of the blood
supply comes from donors who visit donor centers and half comes
from donors who sign up for mobile blood drives sponsored by their
local community, place of worship or employer. Departmental
release time is appropriate for staff wishing to donate. To help
alleviate waiting times, there will also be a bloodmobile
designated for faculty and staff.

To donate blood, you must be at least 17 years old (16 with
parental consent), weigh 110 pounds or more, and be in generally
good health. We ask that you do not donate blood if you have had
cold or flu symptoms within the 48 hours prior to donating. Please
eat and drink plenty of fluids before donating blood and bring
picture identification for registration purposes.

All staff, faculty, students and alumni are members of the
ASUCD-Davis community blood program, which provides members and
their families with 100 percent coverage for blood and blood costs.

Thank you for your continued support in promoting and participating
in this event and for your ongoing concern about healthcare in our
community.

For further information, please call Kate Blake at Blood Source at
(800) 995-4420 ext. 60036 or via email at kate.blake@bloodsource.org.
