RE: Soaring to New Heights, April 8, 2008

Staff and faculty are invited to attend the 18th annual Soaring to New Heights 
program, UC Davis' premier diversity celebration event.  The event is scheduled 
to take place on Tuesday, April 8, 2008, from 11:15-1:30 (doors open at 
11:00 a.m.) in Freeborn Hall.  This year's event features entertainment by 
UC Davis faculty blues band BLACK CAT BONE, as well as an international buffet.  
The program also features informational table displays by UC Davis campus 
constituent groups and the announcement of the annual Diversity & Principles 
of Community Achievement Recognition Awards and the Calvin E. Handy Leadership 
Award.

IMPORTANT TICKET INFORMATION! 

Tickets for this event will be sold through the Campus Events and Visitor 
Services Ticket Office (located at Freeborn Hall, 530-752-1915) on a first 
come, first serve basis until sold out. The cost for each ticket is $5. Cash, 
checks payable to UC Regents, and personal credit cards will be accepted. Phone 
orders will incur a $5 charge for the entire order.  Please note that 
departmental recharges cannot be processed by the ticket office.

Once ticketing for the capacity of Freeborn Hall has been reached, no 
additional tickets will be available. Tickets will be available for purchase 
from the box office at Freeborn from February 29 through March 26 or until 
sold out. No tickets will be sold at the door.

Department/Unit representation at these events is highly recommended.
Release time with supervisory approval is appropriate.

sponsored by the Office of Campus Community Relations and the Staff Affirmative 
Action and Diversity Advisory Committee.
