RE: 2009-2010 Student Regent Application Process

Applications for the 2009-10 Student Regent position are now available.

The Student Regent is a voting member of the Board of Regents of the
University, and as such attends all Board and committee meetings. The
selected student will serve a two-year term. In the first year (July
2008-July 2009), s/he will hold the title of "Student Regent-designate"
and will be invited to attend all meetings of the Board and its
committees, but without a vote. In the second year (July 2009-July 2010),
s/he will serve as "Student Regent" and will have full voting privileges.
The selected student shall have the option of receiving either a fee
waiver or a scholarship in an amount equivalent to the student's total
mandatory University fees during the two academic years in which s/he
serves as a Regent-designate and as a Regent.

Students interested in current University issues and the decision-making
process should be encouraged to apply. At the time of application,
candidates must be an undergraduate, graduate, or professional student
