RE: 2008 Outstanding Graduate Student Teaching Award

Nominations are invited for the 2008 Outstanding Graduate Student Teaching Award. The
award is offered to recognize the contributions of graduate students to teaching and
learning at UC Davis. This annual award is co-sponsored by the Graduate Council, the
Office of Graduate Studies, and the Teaching Resources Center.

We believe that this is a tremendously important award because it honors outstanding
graduate students, reminds the campus that teaching is a central part of the
University's mission, and can inspire students and professors to give increased
attention to the educational process.

Any member of the campus community having direct experience with the graduate
student's teaching can make nominations, and we particularly encourage students to
nominate their outstanding graduate student teaching assistants; self nominations are
allowed. Nominations are due by Monday, February 18, 2008. The Call for Nominations
and Nomination Packet is available on the Graduate Studies website at
http://www.gradstudies.ucdavis.edu/gradcouncil/ogta.html. Please note that the
nomination process and required information have been modified from last year.

If you have questions or need additional information about this award, please contact
Cathy Jurado, in the Office of Graduate Studies at (530) 752-9297 or by email at
cjjurado@ucdavis.edu.
