UC DAVIS: OFFICE OF THE CHANCELLOR
November 8, 2007
DEANS, DIRECTORS, DEPARTMENT CHAIRS, AND ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICERS
RE: Invitation to Nominate Candidates for the UC Davis Foundation Board of Trustees
On behalf of the UC Davis Foundation nominating committee, I invite you to nominate
candidates for the UC Davis Foundation Board of Trustees.
Trusteeship is truly one of the highest honors UC Davis can bestow upon a volunteer.
Trustees of the UC Davis Foundation play a leadership role in assuring the university's
success in fundraising and advocacy. They include distinguished alumni, parents, community
members and faculty representatives - who bring vital expertise and community relationships
that help UC Davis achieve its goals.
In addition to serving the university as a whole, trustees serve as liaisons to the schools,
colleges and programs in which they have a strong academic, professional or personal interest.
In this capacity, they also provide a perspective about these areas to other members of the
board and to the community.
For your convenience, a nomination form and details about the selection criteria are attached.
You may also include letter(s) of recommendation, which might provide additional information
about the nominated candidate's relationship with UC Davis. More information about the UC Davis
Foundation, including a list of current trustees, can be found at
http://www.development.ucdavis.edu/uc_davis_foundation.html.
PLEASE SUBMIT YOUR NOMINATIONS BY FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 30, 2007.
Final selection will be made in February by the nominating committee of the UC Davis Foundation
Board of Trustees. The announcement of new trustees will be made in May. Trustees selected in
2008 will serve a three-year term, which may be renewed for a second term.
You may contact Kathy Henderson, at (530) 757-3212 or klhenderson@ucdavis.edu if you have
questions or need additional information.
Thank you for your valuable assistance.
