UC DAVIS: BODEGA MARINE LABORATORY October 15, 2007 DEANS, DIRECTORS, DEPARTMENT CHAIRS AND ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICERS DAVIS CAMPUS ONLY RE: CALL FOR APPLICATIONS BODEGA MARINE LABORATORY AND RESERVE INTERCAMPUS RESEARCH AND TRAVEL GRANTS FOR 2007-2008 Deadline: November 13, 2007 Bodega Marine Laboratory and Reserve (BML) is now accepting applications for BML Intercampus Research and Travel Grants for 2007-2008. The purpose of the grant is to encourage research at BML by UC Davis faculty, researchers and graduate students by providing funding for travel and facility use. Awards are limited to $1,200 in any 12-month period. Applications are evaluated based on need for BML facility or reserve use, quality of the proposed research, clarity of presentation, and feasibility of the project. Priority is given to graduate students and new or collaborative research projects. Applicants with existing balances will be given low priority. PROCEDURES: 1. Complete the BML Intercampus Research & Travel Grant Application. Forms are available at http://www.bml.ucdavis.edu/geninfo/TRAVWEB.pdf or email, fax, or phone (listed below). The Application includes: a. Application Cover Page b. Budget worksheet (2 pages) c. Summary of proposed research project (1 page) d. Progress report if funded in present fiscal year (1 page) e. List of BML/BMR publications from last 3 years 2. Update or enter your research project description in the BML online application system at http://www.ucnrs.org/RAMS/Application/NRSApplication.lasso?reserve=5 and record your online application number and enter it on the travel grant application cover page. Successful grant applicants must have a complete online project description that covers the activities proposed in the grant. The online system will allow you to describe a new project or update a previously submitted project description. Please be sure to include all intra-and extramural funding related to this proposal when prompted. 3. Obtain the Department Chair's signature on the cover page. 4.
