UC DAVIS: Office of Resource Management and Planning August 30, 2007 DEANS, DIRECTORS, DEPARTMENT CHAIRS, AND ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICERS RE: Aggie Stadium Road Closures and Parking Information The upcoming football season will include games on September 1, September 22, October 13, October 27, and November 17. Traffic and parking restrictions for these Saturday games could have an effect on campus especially within the Health Sciences District. To minimize the overall disruption, a number of road closures and parking restrictions are planned. The following information provides an overview of the road closures and parking restrictions. ---ROAD CLOSURES--- Beginning as early as 8:00 a.m. and continuing for approximately one hour after each game, the following road closures will be in effect: 1) La Rue Road between Hutchison Drive and Garrod Drive. 2) Hutchison Drive between Dairy Road and Kleiber Hall Drive 3) Dairy Road between Parking Lot 40 and Hutchison Drive (northbound closed, southbound open) 4) In addition, for approximately one hour after each game, Health Sciences Drive northbound will be closed north of Parking Lot 53. Accompanying these road closures will be detours with signs to direct both stadium traffic and other campus users to alternate roadways. Most congestion will occur from approximately 9:30 to 11:45 (prior to the noon kickoff) and after the game sometime between 3:15 and 4:45. If your operations will potentially be affected by the road closures, please consult the following map to view the road closures and consider detour options: http://ucdavisaggies.cstv.com/sports/m-footbl/spec-rel/gameday-parking.html ---PARKING RESTRICTIONS --- To maintain regular business operations in the Health Sciences District, much of the parking in the Health Sciences District will be reserved for non-stadium use only. Stadium parking WILL NOT BE allowed in Parking Lots 50, 55, 51, the Thurman Lab parking area, and the two small Medical Sciences parking lots. These lots will be reserved for regular operations within the Health Sciences District, signed for no football parking, and patrolled by TAPS to discourage football patrons from using these lots. These lots will be reserved for employees needing access to buildings for business purposes and similar users such as campus visitors needing access to facilities such as the Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital. Event and general use parking WILL BE allowed in Parking Lots 30, 40, 41, 47, 47A, 53, 56, 57, and the West Entry Parking Structure. In these lots, TAPS will charge the daily parking fee of $6 for all vehicles not displaying a valid UC Davis parking permit. These lots are expected to be full as early 10:00 a.m. Parking Lot 56 has been reserved for the football game and will not be available for general use. In all other campus parking lots, no stadium restrictions will be in place and parking will be available for no charge as it is on typical weekends. ---STADIUM INFORMATION--- For other stadium information, please consult: http://ucdavisaggies.cstv.com/sports/m-footbl/spec-rel/07-stadium-info-central.html If you have any questions or suggestions about the traffic and parking planning for football games, please contact Matt Dulcich, at (530) 752-9597 or medulcich@ucdavis.edu.
