UC DAVIS: OFFICE OF THE VICE PROVOST UNIVERSITY OUTREACH & INTERNATIONAL PROGRAMS November 8, 2005 DEANS, DIRECTORS, DEPARTMENT CHAIRS, AND MEMBERS OF THE ACADEMIC SENATE RE: Recruitment for Director of the UC Davis Education Abroad Program (EAP) I am pleased to invite applications and nominations for a 50% administrative appointment as Director of the UC Davis Education Abroad Program (EAP). This is a half-time appointment effective July 1, 2006 through June 30, 2008. EAP is the international program of the University of California that provides academic exchanges and integrates international curricula and learning opportunities for students. In consultation with the Vice Provost—University Outreach and International Programs, the Campus EAP Director has primary responsibility for integrating EAP into the academic curriculum of the campus, providing general oversight for the Campus EAP Office; and acting as liaison between the faculty and the University-wide Office of EAP (UOEAP). We seek candidates who will embrace our commitment to providing every student an opportunity to study abroad and to being a fully engaged University. Candidates should be members of the UC Davis Academic Senate, and have demonstrated skills in program development, academic administrative experience, and the ability to work effectively in diverse groups and settings. This is a half time, two-year position that carries an administrative stipend. Academic year faculty may receive additional summer compensation. In addition, funds will be made available to the appointee’s department to cover a portion of the appointee’s teaching duties.
