UC DAVIS: ACADEMIC SENATE October 31, 2005 DEANS, DIRECTORS AND DEPARTMENT CHAIRPERSONS RE: 2005-06 Distinguished Scholarly Public Service Award Attached is the Call for the 2005-06 Distinguished Scholarly Public Service Award. I would very much appreciate it if you would PLEASE POST the colored flier that you'll be receiving in the next few days in a visible location in your department and seek out worthy candidates to nominate. This award will be presented by the Davis Division of the Academic Senate to up to four (4) deserving faculty members who have made significant contributions to the world, nation, state, and community through distinguished scholarly public service. In addition to the extraordinarily long term of service, the committee is very interested in reviewing what a newer faculty member may have done in a relatively short period of time. The recipient(s) will receive a stipend. I have included a copy of the official Call for Nominations with this memo, which has already been distributed via email to each faculty member. Please note that the deadline for receipt of nominations is Monday, January 9, 2006.
