UC DAVIS: OFFICE OF THE VICE CHANCELLOR-ADMINISTRATION October 13, 2005 DEANS, DIRECTORS, DEPARTMENT CHAIRS, AND ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICERS RE: October is National Work and Family Month Throughout October, UC Davis will observe National Work and Family Month. National Work and Family Month is the result of U.S. Senate Resolution 210 passed in September 2003 to build awareness about the importance of work- life effectiveness. It states that "supporting a balance between work and personal life is in the best interest of national worker productivity" and "reducing the conflict between work and family life should be a national priority." UC Davis supports the Resolution and National Work-Life Initiative to foster flexible, supportive work environments that integrate institutional, personal and community outcomes. Please join our Staff Work/Life team for a noontime brown bag on Thursday, October 13 as they present "The Faces of Work/Life at UC Davis" http://sdps.ucdavis.edu/browse/wl.htm. You will learn about programs, services and resources to manage childcare, eldercare, wellness, volunteering, and other matters surrounding self, life's important others, work and community.
