UC DAVIS: OFFICE OF THE PROVOST September 2, 2005 DEANS, DIRECTORS, DEPARTMENT CHAIRS, AND ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICERS RE: Academic Range Adjustment With only a few exceptions, academic appointees, including Academic Senate and Academic Federation titles, will receive a 2% range adjustment, effective October 1, 2005. Off-scale increments may be adjusted if the applied 2% increases said increment by at least $50/year. Special salary adjustments will be made for the following categories: 1. Salary increases for the ASE collective bargaining unit are provided by the contract. For fiscal year 2005-06, the general range adjustment for them will be 2% effective October 1. The contract also provides for an across the board increase of 1.5%. 2. Housestaff have received special salary adjustments in recent years. Another special salary adjustment will be made this year. However, the details are not yet finalized. The information will be sent to you in a separate letter. 3. The minimum and maximum of the Postdoctoral Scholars range, as set forth in APM 390, will be increased by 2%. Per APM 390-18-b, no systemwide range adjustment will occur for individual postdoctoral scholars; instead, campuses have the option to provide range adjustments for salaries that fall between the minimum and maximum scale. 4. Graduate Student Researchers will receive a special salary adjustment of 3.5% reflecting the lack of general range or merit increases over recent years. 5. Members of the Non-Senate Instructional Unit, Unit 18, have concluded reopener bargaining and will receive the 2% range adjustment. 6. Members of the Librarian Unit, Unit 17, are currently engaged in reopener bargaining and the salary adjustments have not yet been agreed to. Salary scales will be issued when they have been finalized by the Office of the President. Please contact Kristine Peterson in Academic Personnel at 752-2420 if you have any questions on this salary plan. Barbara Horwitz Vice Provost - Academic Personnel 05-091
