UC DAVIS: OFFICE OF THE CHANCELLOR March 18, 2005 DEANS, DIRECTORS, DEPARTMENT CHAIRS, AND ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICERS RE: Appointment of Vice Chancellor--Administration I am very pleased to announce the appointment of Stan Nosek as Vice Chancellor-- Administration following a national search to fill the position on a permanent basis. He has held the position in an interim capacity since February 2003. Throughout his career, Mr. Nosek has demonstrated exceptional management ability in many of the areas where he now has responsibility. He was able to move quickly and effectively into one of the most complex jobs on campus when he assumed the interim role two years ago, showing great ingenuity in guiding virtually all of the infrastructure required to operate the campus. Mr. Nosek received his B.S. degree from the State University College at Oneonta, New York and his M.S. degree from the State University of New York, Albany. He has served in positions of increasing responsibility at UC Davis for 28 years, the last 13 of which have been in the Office of Administration. Within the Office of Administration, he has served as Executive Assistant to the Vice Chancellor, Information Practices Coordinator, Director of Event Management and Administrative Services, Assistant Vice Chancellor-Administration, and from August 1, 2001 to February 1, 2003, as Associate Vice Chancellor-Business Services. In addition to his other duties, he also served as Interim Executive Director of Human Resources from January 1999 to October 2001. Please join me in congratulating Stan on his permanent appointment.
