DEANS, DIRECTORS, DEPARTMENT CHAIRS AND CAMPUS/UCDHS ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICERS

Subject: Telephone Service Maintenance - June 20, 3AM-6AM

The campus had authorized SBC to remove telephone equipment no longer in service
for the campus on May 23rd. Unfortunately, SBC experienced a work stoppage on that
date and was unable to perform the removal. We have authorized a new date for the
removal, as provided in the following memorandum.

On Sunday, June 20, SBC will be removing disconnected telephone equipment from the
campus. The process requires SBC to physically isolate power supplies that serve
both the disconnected equipment and the campus PBX. Although the probability of an
outage to campus telephone services is minimal, there is a possibility that voice
telephone access to and from off-campus locations could be affected for a maximum
of fifteen minutes during the service window. This window has been scheduled for
Sunday morning, June 20 between 3:00 am and 6:00 am.

Campus telephone service to and from local and long distance services could be denied
momentarily in the unlikely event of an actual service outage.
Note that the following services WILL NOT be affected:
* Campus 911 services
* Campus data network services
* Cellular service
* Campus Police and Medical Center direct lines
* On-campus (5-digit) dialing
* On-campus alarms

If you have any questions, please contact Systems Engineering Manager, Dave Klem at
(530) 752-5940 or Project Manager Perry Browning at (530) 752-0015.

Doug Hartline
Director

Note: Possible outage is Sunday, June 20, from 3 AM to 6 AM
