UC DAVIS: Cancer Center June 9, 2004 Re: Special Meeting: Collaborating with the CA Cancer Registry On June 25, 2004 the California Cancer Registry (Department of Health Services) and the UC Davis Cancer Center will host a special meeting designed to aid UCD investigators in developing collaborations with Registry epidemiologists and data specialists. This meeting affords a unique opportunity to learn about the myriad ways the Registry can be used for epidemiological and molecular epidemiological studies in many facets of cancer; learn how these population disciplines can collaborate with clinical and basic science explorations of cancer. Speakers will illuminate some innovative techniques applicable to cancer survivors (with appropriate consent) that are not yet widely available to the scientific community for analyzing ancestral factors in cancer genetics. Investigators at other California universities have developed long- standing collaborations with the Registry spawning significant discovery, extramural funding, and publication. Pre-registration is required, but there is no registration fee. The day- long meeting includes a hosted lunch and ample forums for interaction with speakers and participants. Additional details are available in the attached PDF file or equivalent Word file. To register, send an e-mail to cancer.center@ucdmc.ucdavis.edu including name, title, and contact information. Seating is limited and early registration is recommended.
