UC DAVIS: ACCOUNTING AND FINANCIAL SERVICES September 26, 2003 DEANS, DIRECTORS, DEPARTMENT CHAIRS, AND CAMPUS/UCDMC ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICERS RE: Change in Procedure to Compensate Human Subjects Effective immediately, it is no longer necessary to complete and attach a "Possible Conflict of Interest" form to a DaFIS Direct Charge document in order to compensate an individual who participates in a human subject study. This long-standing practice has no policy or regulatory mandate as its foundation. In addition, the form adds no value because these transactions do not constitute an employee-vendor relationship. Please contact Alex Martin, Procurement Services Manager, at (530) 757-8717 should you have any questions. Sincerely, J. Michael Allred Associate Vice Chancellor--Finance 03-112
