UC DAVIS: OFFICE OF THE CHANCELLOR September 22, 2003 PLEASE MAKE THIS INFORMATION AVAILABLE TO ALL EMPLOYEES DEANS, DIRECTORS, DEPARTMENT CHAIRS, AND CAMPUS/UCDMC ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICERS RE: Fall Convocation and Release Time for Staff The 2003 Fall Convocation is scheduled for Wednesday, September 24, 2003, at Jackson Hall in the Robert and Margrit Mondavi Center for the Performing Arts from 11 a.m. to 12 noon. The Convocation is open to all members of the campus community: faculty, staff, students, alumni, and friends. Robert E. Chason, CEO, UC Davis Medical Center and COO of the UCD Health System will welcome guests and introduce the stage party. The theme of the Convocation and Chancellor Vanderhoef’s address is “A CENTURY AGO, ANYTHING WAS POSSIBLE. IT STILL IS. An Optimist’s View of Troubling Times.” The guest speaker is Phyllis M. Wise, Dean of the Division of Biological Sciences. Everyone is invited to a reception immediately following the Convocation in the F. Earl and Coralie Corin Courtyard. Please ensure that academic and staff supervisors encourage staff employees to attend. Release time with supervisor’s approval is appropriate for this special University event. Virginia S.
