UC DAVIS: OFFICE OF RESOURCE MANAGEMENT AND PLANNING July 8, 2003 DEANS, DIRECTORS, DEPARTMENT CHAIRS, and CAMPUS ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICERS RE: Comment Period Extended for 2003 Long Range Development Plan Draft EIR As previously announced (http://directives.ucdavis.edu/2003/03-050.cfm), UC Davis proposes to adopt a new Long Range Development Plan Environmental Impact Report (hereinafter 2003 LRDP EIR) and approve five projects for implementation. The five projects proposed for implementation are the Neighborhood Master Plan (NMP), the Research Park Master Plan (RPMP), the Multi-Use Stadium Complex, the Robert Mondavi Institute, and the Chilled Water Facilities Expansion Project. In response to community requests, related primarily to a possible vehicular connection to Russell Boulevard indicated in the NMP, the campus has elected to extend the public comment period until 5:00 PM on August 5, 2003. Public Meetings In addition to extending the CEQA comment period, the campus has scheduled two public workshops on the Russell Boulevard connection issue and a public hearing to provide an additional opportunity to comment on the 2003 LRDP Draft EIR. A July 10 public workshop from 7:00 to 9:00 PM will provide participants the opportunity to review potential planning options for a road connection to Russell Boulevard and provide input on additional options to be studied. The public workshop will take place at the Emerson Junior High School Multipurpose Room located at 2121 Calaveras Avenue, in Davis. A July 24 public workshop from 7:00 to 9:00 PM will further explore various road options for Russell Boulevard. The meeting will also take place at the Emerson Junior High School Multipurpose Room. An additional public hearing on the 2003 Draft LRDP EIR will be held at 7:00 PM on July 28 at Freeborn Hall on the UC Davis campus. At this hearing, oral or written comments will be received for inclusion in the Final EIR.
