UC DAVIS: Academic Senate September 5, 2002 DEANS, DIRECTORS, DEPARTMENT CHAIRS RE: Chair, Davis Division of the Academic Senate Committee on Committees is pleased to announce the appointment of Professor Bruce R. Madewell as Chair of the Davis Division of the Academic Senate, effective September 1, 2002. This appointment is due to the resignation of Professor Jeffery C. Gibeling who recently assumed the position of Dean-Graduate Studies. Professor Madewell's appointment continues through August 31, 2003. Professor Madewell has had extensive and varied experience in the Academic Senate. He has served on the Graduate Council and was Chair of the Faculty in the School of Veterinary Medicine. More recently, he served as Vice Chair of the Davis Division during the academic year 2001-02. He served on the Committee on Academic Planning and Budget Review from September 1997 through August 2001 and the Committee on Academic Personnel from September 1993 through August 1996. He joined the School of Veterinary Medicine in 1975 and is a Professor in the Department of Surgery and Radiological Science. The Committee on Committees is grateful for his willingness to accept this appointment and to make this tremendous contribution of time and effort on behalf of the Academic Senate.
