UC DAVIS: Architects and Engineers July 1, 2002 DEANS, DIRECTORS, DEPARTMENT CHAIRS, AND CAMPUS ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICERS Subject: Opening of New Davis Road - Permanent Closure of Old Davis Road On July 12, 2002, New Davis Road will be open for vehicular traffic only. Old Davis Road will be permanently closed to vehicular traffic from California Avenue to Mrak Hall Drive and will be converted to a bike path. Old Davis Road will be open to vehicular traffic for authorized personnel requiring access to the Mondavi Center only. (See map attached.) Pedestrian access to and from the South Campus parking garage shall remain as is until construction of the Mondavi Center is complete in October 2002. Note that the pedestrian walkway on the west side of the Mondavi Center construction site will be closed from July 12, 2002 through August 2, 2002. Construction fences on both sides of the New Davis Road will remain in place during ongoing work. The loop road around the Entry Quad (under construction) will not be open until some time in October 2002.
