UC DAVIS: OFFICE OF THE CHANCELLOR September 13, 2001 DEANS, DIRECTORS, DEPARTMENT CHAIRS, AND CAMPUS/UCDHS ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICERS (PLEASE CIRCULATE QUICKLY) RE: Friday's National Day of Prayer and Remembrance Several opportunities are available to faculty, staff and students who wish to join together tomorrow (Friday, Sept. 14) in observance of the day designated by U.S. President George Bush as a "National Day of Prayer and Remembrance." An ecumenical service offering opportunities for reflection, remembrance and prayer will be held at noon on the banks of Lake Spafford, located just east of Mrak Hall. In addition, the UC Davis Medical Center's Clinical Pastoral Services Program will conduct three interfaith services on the medical center campus in Sacramento. These non-denominational services will be held at 8:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m. and 4 p.m. in the outdoor courtyard located behind the Housestaff Facility between the Medical Records Building and PSSB. All members of the UC Davis community, no matter their faith or religious affiliation, are welcome to attend these gatherings or to participate in special noon-hour memorial services held in their own places of worship.
