UC DAVIS: Office of the Chancellor August 29, 2000 DEANS, DIRECTORS, DEPARTMENT CHAIRS, AND CAMPUS ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICERS Re: Cal Aggie-Davis Fall Blood Drive Please consider donating blood during the Fall blood drive on Tuesday and Wednesday, September 5-6, 2000, from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. in MU II, Memorial Union (upstairs). All blood types are needed. To donate blood, you must be at least 17 years old (16 with parental consent), weigh 110 pounds or more (a smaller unit may be collected if you weigh less), and be in generally good health. Remember to eat and drink plenty of fluids prior to donating blood, and bring a picture ID for identification purposes. All staff, faculty, students, and alumni are members of the Cal Aggie-Davis Community blood program, which provides members and their families with 100 percent coverage for blood and blood costs. Departmental release time is appropriate for staff wishing to donate. Priority service will be available for staff and faculty who are on a restrictive time schedule. Thank you for your help in promoting and participating in this event and for your ongoing concern about healthcare in our community. For further information, please call Aileen Almeute, ASUCD Blood Drive Director, at (530) 759-8445 or the SMF Blood Centers at (800) 995-4420 or visit their website at http://www.smfbc.org/. Larry N. Vanderhoef Chancellor 00-098
