UC DAVIS: TRANSPORTATION AND PARKING SERVICES August 25, 2000 DEANS, DIRECTORS, DEPARTMENT CHAIRS, AND CAMPUS ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICERS RE: Bicycle License Fee Increases As of September 1, 2000, the cost for a new bicycle license (registration) will increase from $6.00 to $8.00. The cost for a license renewal will increase from $3.00 to $4.00. Both will still be valid through December 31 of the second year after the year they were sold. Revenue from bicycle registration is the primary revenue source supporting the TAPS Bicycle Program that promotes the safe, secure, and efficient use of bicycles as an important form of transportation at UC Davis. The cost of bicycle licenses and renewals at UC Davis has not risen since 1981. These new fee increases are necessary to offset increases in program costs that have been experienced over the last 20 years. For more information, contact the TAPS Bicycle Program Coordinator at (530) 752-BIKE or via e-mail at dltakemotoweerts@ucdavis.edu.
