SUBJECT: UCD Fleet Services 2000-01 Rate Schedule
Fleet Services will be adjusting recharge rates effective July 1, 2000. The
new rates can be viewed on our website at http://www.fleet.ucdavis.edu/ (click on
RATES link).
This year Fleet Services is increasing recharge rates based on the Planning
and Budget Guidelines for most Assigned (monthly) and Pool (daily)
vehicles. The one exception is daily rates for the Charter Bus Program.
The Campus Rate Committee will be reviewing the Charter Bus Program rates
soon, and any approved changes will be implemented later in the summer.
The recharge rate for tickets on the Intercampus Bus Program (shuttle
between Davis and Berkeley) will not change for 2000-01. The one-way ticket
price will remain $5.50.
Finally, recharge rates for departmentally owned vehicles will be increased
to include pass-through costs for increased parking fees ($3/month). We do
not anticipate an increase in the automobile insurance component of these
rates at this time.
Fleet Services continues to offer rates which are lower than commercial
rental agencies in nearly all vehicle categories. When considering outside
car rental agencies, please remember to add fuel, sales tax and VLF
(vehicle license fee) to commercial prices to compare properly with Fleet
Services rates. While commercial agencies often do not charge a "per mile"
fee, the customer must buy fuel, whereas Fleet Services' rates include fuel.
