Re: Campus New Employee Orientation Program
I am pleased to announce that the campus New Employee Orientation
(NEO) Program will be offered in an expanded full-day format, effective
July 1, 2000. The restructure program focuses on conveying the importance
of our UC Davis Mission, Principles of Community and rich culture as well
as explaining our comprehensive benefits packages. Other program
components include presentations by key campus personnel, breakfast and
lunch, and an on-line, web-based accompaniment to the orientation process.
The first expanded NEO session will be held on July 5, 2000, at the
University Club Conference Center from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. It will run
twice monthly on Wednesdays. Schedule information is available on the
Staff Development & Professional Services web site
(http://sdps.ucdavis.edu/browse/be.htm). As in the past, a new employee
may be enrolled in NEO by calling Staff Development & Professional Services
(752-1766) or through the on-line enrollment system (http://sdps.ucdavis.edu).
I am confident that you will agree with me that the revised New
Employee Orientation is one of our best opportunities to welcome and
acculturate our new employees. Your continued support of the program
strengthens the UC Davis commitment to sustaining excellence in our
talented community of staff. Therefore, I urge you to make attendance at
New Employee Orientation a requirement for all new campus staff in your
colleges and divisions. Please join me in introducing new employees to UC
Davis--a great place to work.
