RE:     Open Enrollment Fair, Wednesday, November 10, 1999 

The UC Davis Compensation and Benefits Unit and the UCD Staff Assembly will 
host the 1999 Open Enrollment Fair for active employees on Wednesday, November 
10, at Freeborn Hall from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.  This fair provides an 
opportunity for employees to meet with providers and learn more about group 
insurance plan benefits in preparation for this year's open enrollment period 
which will run from November 1 - 22, 1999. 

The Open Enrollment Fair will also feature a number of wellness activities, 
including body fat, blood pressure, and diabetes testing, and massage therapy. 
Flu shots will be offered at $3.00 per shot.  Bone scanning for osteoporosis 
detection will be offered at  $10.00 per scan.  Due to a scheduling conflict, 
hearing testing will not be available this year. 

The importance of healthy employees who are aware of current health trends and 
issues makes this annual event a high priority.  Release time with supervisory 
approval is appropriate.
