RE:   Call for Nominations for the Distinguished Teaching Awards

Attached is the 1999 Call for Nominations for the Distinguished Teaching Awards that 
I would like to bring specifically to your attention.  You will note that the Committee 
on Distinguished Teaching Awards would like to receive letters that provide the perspective 
of both the students and the faculty.  The faculty perspective can be given either by the 
Chair or by a member of the faculty who is familiar with the nominee's qualifications for 
the award.  An alternative is to give this request to your departmental awards committee, 
and encourage that group to develop the faculty perspective for the nomination of qualified 
candidates.
