RE:  Announcing the On-Campus Job Opportunities Fair for UC Davis Students

The Student Employment Center invites all departments to participate in the
On-Campus Job Opportunities Fair for UC Davis Students. The Fair will take
place on the Quad, Thursday, October  8, 1998, 10 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

For campus departments that have difficulty obtaining student assistance
during the school year, Fall Quarter is the perfect time to recruit student
employees.  Experience has shown us that most students eagerly seek
employment for the year during Fall Quarter; therefore, we anticipate that
many students will attend this job fair.  At the Fair, staff can provide
written information about your department's job openings and schedule
follow-up interviews on the spot.  Our office will take care of advertising
and distributing flyers to inform students of the event. There is no
participation cost to departments or students.

Many UC Davis students rely on year-round employment to help defray their
educational costs. The goal of the Student Employment Center is to bring
together campus employers and motivated student employees to fill department
job opportunities.  In addition, Fall Quarter is the best time to recruit
students with Work-Study awards, which can help defray department payroll
expenses.  To ensure that the Fair is a success for both students and
departments,  we encourage all departments to participate.

If you would like to provide employment opportunities for UC Davis students
and possibly defray some payroll expenses, simply complete and return the
attached Registration Form to the Student Employment Center by Friday,
September 29, 1998.
