RE:  Staff Development and Education

It is important to all of us that UC Davis continues to present an outstanding
education and development program for staff.  For the past several years our
Staff Development & Professional Services program has provided an array of
education and development opportunities designed to encourage creativity; to
develop organizational, management, and communication skills; to support the
acquisition of complex technology skills; and to prepare staff to assume new
roles within our changing organization.  Having the opportunity to increase
our capacity to learn and to apply our talent to the interests of ourselves and of
UC Davis is the best way to assure our collective future.  There is no better
investment of our resources.

And so as we begin a new year I ask you to consider the development and
education goals of your units and to support staff through release time to
participate in one or more of the many UCD-sponsored programs.  Please visit
