ALL CAMPUS UNITS

RE: ATTENDENT-ASSISTED PARKING

To better serve our parking customers, beginning November 17, 1997, Parking Services will implement,
for the second year in a row, a program of attendant-assisted parking in specific lots in the north
and south portions of the campus. Through the option, attendants will coordinate the parking of cars
in lot aisles to allow more vehicles to park than could otherwise be accommodated in a strictly
self-park situation. This approach will increase the parking capacity of these portions of campus
by about 550 vehicles.

The parking lots in which Parking Services initially plans to provide attendant-assisted parking
include Lots 2B, 5, 15, and the Quad District Parking Structure (see campus map for lot locations).
The dates of operation are November 17, 1997 through the rainy season (approximately March 1998).
The days and hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. These
days and hours could be adjusted for each lot to best suit the needs of the campus. The appropriate
parking permit will continue to be required to park in the lots noted above.

Attendant-assisted parking will increase the availability of parking during winter peak demands and will
reduce the number of new parking spaces that will need to be constructed to accommodate a growing
campus population and the displacement of parking due to planned campus construction projects.

Attached for information is a questions and answers sheet about attendant-assisted
parking that may assist you in better understanding this parking plan. Questions or requests for
additional information may be directed to Parking Services at 752-8277.

Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.

Sincerely,

Clifford A. Contreras
Manager, Parking Services
