Re:     Small Business Trade Fair 

On Thursday, October 9, 1997, the Campus and Medical Center Materiel
Management/Purchasing departments will host the annual Small Business Trade
Fair and product exhibit at Freeborn Hall from 10:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M.
Approximately 85 small businesses will be on hand to meet the campus
community and present their product lines. 

As you may know, the University's Small Business Program works to promote
all types of small businesses in the University's business activities.
This trade fair is an important and useful opportunity for personnel in
your department to become acquainted with these businesses that are eager
to fulfill your purchasing requirements.

This event is designated an official University function and release time
to attend the fair is appropriate with supervisory approval.  Attendance at
the fair by personnel involved in your department's purchasing process is
an important step toward meeting the University's commitment to the small
business community.

I hope you will encourage appropriate members of your staff to attend this
worthwhile and informative event.
